I’m often asked how long will it be before I see ‘results’!  In most circumstances it’s an understandable question to ask, after all, don’t we all want everything ‘right now’? Truth is it depends mostly on you and if you ‘really are’ ready to change things and shake it all up.

Sometimes the weight has crept on over many years, a kilo a year and it doesn’t take too many years to get seriously out of shape, so can you really expect to lose it all in a matter of just a few weeks and should you?

The idea of an 8 to 12 week fitness plan for complete body transformation has been around forever and I believe it is a good ‘rule of thumb’ time period to set aside to really notice changes in your overall fitness levels and how your reflection looks in the mirror.

It’s also a good period of time to start adapting to new habits, if the fitness programme has been properly tailored to your individual requirements, as you progress through weeks 3 to 7 good healthy habits usually start forming, a greater individual interest is taken concerning the food you consume, or what you are drinking and you start thinking ‘healthier’ and even start taking the stairs instead of the lift or walking instead of driving – that time frame can set a great chain reaction in motion.

But alas, there is a down side that many people fall into – body transformation is never going to be just about training regimes and pushing yourself until all the bad bits fade away – it has to include revised nutrition no ‘if’s’ or ‘but’s’ about it! Unless you adopt changes to what you eat and drink, regardless of if you are the most dedicated person in the gym, you are going to be disappointed at your overall results in a specified time frame.

So remember, a 60 minute personal training session is not a free pass to an extra doughnut.

You must give yourself the right fuel to feed your body for maximum gains, and that’s revised nutrition, as well as a fitness programme that is going to best serve you.
